GSCS Youth Programs Served over 2,900 youth in San Antonio and the eleven counties surrounding Bexar County annually.

Over the 4th of July holiday 2008, 13 young people from the Rio Grande Valley flew to Washington D.C. Each day they took in the sites of our nation’s capital, and in the evenings they experienced college life in dorm rooms at George Washington University.

Currently, GSCS Youth Services includes GED preparation classes, workforce development training, life skills classes, opportunities for academic enrichment (grades k-12), health education, and a variety of educational after school and summer activities. All GSCS youth programs are intentionally designed to stabilize families, establish nurturing relationships and foster self-sufficiency.
Programs Include:
- ABC Program (Asset Building for Clients), grades 3 - 1
- Afterschool and Summer Enrichment Program, grades 3 -12
- Get2Work Youth Employment Training Program, ages 14 - 21
- MODELO Program (Mentoring Others through Developmental, Educational, and Leadership Opportunities), grades 7 - 12

Get2Work: The Road to Success: At GSCS, with the guidance and support of a Case Manager, Get2Work participants develop an individual strategy to achieve academic, personal and employment goals. Participants can also qualify for:
- Academic assistance such as tutoring, study skills training, guidance and support to earn high school diploma, GED, and/or entering college or trade school
- Employment opportunities and career exploration assistance
- Paid and unpaid work experiences including internships and job shadows
- Work readiness skills training, career classes and vocational certifications
- Leadership development opportunities and educational field trips
- Counseling and mentoring
- Post-secondary planning and follow-up

The Good Samaritan Community Services Get2Work Project is a comprehensive workforce development program for youth ages 14 to 18 that are living in Bexar County. Through participation in this project, every participant will have the opportunity to learn about the multitudes of occupations in the real world, their personal career interests, and even acquire positive work and life skills through a series of curriculums and key components. These components are designed to specifically meet the needs of both in-school and out-of-school youth enrolled in the program. The Get2Work Project also offers job search and placement activities, counseling, educational services such as tutoring and GED classes, college preparation, and an array of other services.
