What We Do
Since 1951, Good Samaritan Community Services (GSCS) has provided much needed assistance to people living in the neighborhoods of San Antonio’s near west side.
Today GSCS offers extensive social service programs that address the overall needs of children, youth, and families living in 14 counties in South Texas. GSCS’s commitment to improving the quality of life is embodied in its mission, changing lives through excellent community services.
The three cornerstones of GSCS are:
GSCS collaborates with a variety of organizations to enhance the quality of our programs. Current and past partners include: the San Antonio Food Bank, Workforce Solutions Alamo, the San Antonio Public Library, Smart Start for Teachers, San Antonio Association for the Education of Young Children, UT Health Science Center, Youth Orchestras of San Antonio, and the San Antonio Museum of Art.
GSCS programs assist individuals and families in 14 counties in South Texas including: Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Hidalgo, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, Nueces, and Wilson.
